Excitel Fiber Broadband Experience in Delhi NCR

Gosh! Airtel & TPBB are a rip off by comparison!

@pankaj No, you can take the 1 year plan anytime. Doesn't matter whether it's your first recharge or last. Excitel doesn't fool users by some shady ways like other providers does. If people are literate enough they can easily go in flow. Anyways so yeah try them. They also have a 500₹ plan for 300 Mbps internet for 3 Months. If you can have it take it else you can try their 400 Mbps for 1 Month or 300 Mbps whatever your requirements are.

@Chip I know right 😂
They just simply feel so overpriced. But that's how it is. People justify it by service. But in India apart from few exceptions who else is always doing all the other stuff. Anyways...

@havoc bro are you a secret agent of Excitel on here? :D 300 megs are Rs 500/mth is a dream with Airtel and TPBB. Of course they have their advantages no doubt and their QoS & service/support are arguably better but a premium of Rs 1000 over Excitel makes me wonder. Bit difficult to digest, seriously, no kidding.

So, either Excitel will screw customers on the QoS @ 500/mth or Airtel/TPBB will screw customers on the price claiming to be 'premium' tier 1 providers. Yeah I understand as @Lolita_Magnum said it's quality over quantity. And to put it differently, choose what you want high quality or low price. One can't have both. And since Excitel isn't present in Pune yet this is still a moot point.

300Mbps for 500 per 3 months is an introductory offer for new customers and is 1 time only. After that, it's 942.82 pm. I don't like considering 3-6months' prices, because competitors do better even when paid monthly and this is something people just don't understand.
I have been ripped off multiple times when paying for prolonged months and I'm never doing it again.

I normally pay for 3 months. The max I went to is 6 months. Never ever paid a provider for 1 year unless they offer very steep discounts instead of the measly 15% or thereabouts. Even then I'll think over it several times because I don't even trust level 1 providers that much.

@Chip 300 Mbps for 3 months for 500₹ is first time plan. And as you said when taken yearly 300 Mbps plan costs 500₹ per month including taxes. Since 2019 I've been paying yearly and haven't faced any billing related issues. TBH my plan expiry originally was 12 November but it has now moved to 13 December. So they have actually added around a month in my validity and I don't have any problems with that. Also the Quality over Quantity depends on many things. Excitel has even more quality than other Cash sucking ISP's. First I'll make it clear that I don't work for Excitel nor I'm some sort of agent. I'm using fiber broadband since 2019 when excitel came. Before that we had BSNL ADSL since probably when they started offering DSL I don't remember. But the thing i remember is me trying to upload a 1 minute video in 2015 on YouTube taking 20-30 minutes. Now it's minutes for several GB/s of 4K files. Now about QOS thing is always dependent on your usage.

I understand @Lolita_Magnum & many others are having problems with excitel as they fail to deliver speeds on torrents, lack bridge mode in their city etc. But for other things it's working as charm to me. See I'm not a person who promotes a brand or whatever... You might have seen me praising Vi & all that's because I personally use it & my family members. They all are happy with it as well as their services. I raised a service request for my friend's house when he took Vi sim and next day Vi guy came in Swift Desire with his laptop and other networking stuff. We all were clueless 😂
Then he tweaked some settings and all then went to the tower and did something there and my friend started getting from 10 Mbps to 40+ Mbps. I never saw this with Jio or Airtel all they say is we're at full capacity on our towers. "Toh Bhai Paisa kyu le rahe ho oversell karke 😂".

But I have seen nobody talks about overselling of sims and clogged bandwidth Jio users get. Even though jio is Quote on Quote "Premium" ISP.

Anyways talking about Excitel... If you ever get a chance to try it definitely try it. As I was mentioning it's far ahead in terms of Peered services. I get 43 MB/s on Amazon prime while downloading whereas Jio fiber 150 Mbps gave me 15 MB/s that time when I took it's connection. Also excitel downloads ramps up in the beginning then comes to plan speeds which tells that they're Capable of it. Also they don't have a foolish 3.3 TB cap. So try it yourself and see. I must say excitel gave me hiccups last week which even I will say was pretty bad but the thing is they've fixed it and now it's a charm again. So yeah that's all. I do yearly recharges and save a ton on them & don't face any issues except some which I bet other Quote on Quote "Premium" ISP's also have downtimes & when people have issues with them they're screwed up and the customers just bang their heads. Just as that site block issue, your 1 Gig upgrade issue & Lolita's no internet issue for days. But we forget to mention these flaws of these ISP's. Maybe I'll curse excitel too if I start facing these issues. But until now I haven't so that's why I'm good with it.

@havoc chill bro, excitel employee was just a joke, though now your retaliation has made me intrigued. 🙃
The thing was no one was (except you) defending any ISP nor one should. We aren't employees nor their sales.
Nitpicking over ISPs is the honor given to customers and one should keep on doing that until every last bit of issue is solved forever. :ROFLMAO:

@Lolita_Magnum I'm sorry if it felt like a retaliation. I should get some sleep today as I haven't & probably my mind has been screwed up due to it.

Anyways sorry guys I don't meant anything like that but it's just... I don't know. But the thing I know is they have many people in CC that are totally illiterate to even know how fiber works or anything. That's the problem not limited to Indian ISP's but others too. Anyways I must say sorry to y'all and I know you guys have years of experience and work at networking field and I'm just a beginner starting to learn all this stuff. I might make mistakes but mistakes help me learn I guess :)

Anyways so as you said nobody should defend any ISP and I totally agree because we aren't their employees or anything. And maybe I'm defending excitel today & maybe tomorrow they'll backstab me nobody knows that's true... Even I don't wanna do that but as I said because I'm using it since a long time and happy with their services I was a bit biased towards them. But I'll try my best to not advocate for it. Although it's a human trait but I'll try to control it.

Once again I'm sorry guys if someone got offended due to everything I said above. I'm really sorry for that but I hope you all can think of it like this -
We're paying 18000₹ with discounts & taxes to big ISP for 300 Mbps. Then we're paying just 7000₹ with taxes to excitel for 400 Mbps. Although unpeered stuff is slow but the thing to consider for most Indians is they're not willing to spend that much. Cases might differ a lot but think about it. Excitel is 2.5 or even 3 times cheaper than other ISPs. So even if we're getting half the speeds on things which aren't peered or whatever we should not complain like that. Even I'll leave excitel tomorrow if they hike their prices and don't provide services to that level. I have all other ISPs at my place so no worries.

As their site says "Indians experience entertainment over internet at home."

Clearly it's for media & peered stuff. They've themselves mentioned it on their main page of site.

So yeah I'll pull their legs too in the forum in future if I encounter any problems. An I believe you guys will try to help me. And that's our IBF community. Sometimes there are debates, disagreements & all but at the end nobody Stops helping each other. That's why I'm here and I guess we all are here :)

So yeah guys, thanks for reading if you did and probably I'm going to be restricted from this thread by moderation staff but still it's okay. Even if I won't post I'll always come to this forum to see what you guys are doing. Good Luck guys & Take care 🤗

@havoc man I am just pulling your leg..you have your reasons to like Excitel so more power to you. Thing is I am a bit wary of these companies no matter how big/small they are...and frankly while Airtel/TPBB are way better than BSNL that I extensively used in the past, my experience with Airtel's upgrade is very, very disappointing. It's happened for the 2nd time in the past 12 months. At the risk of going a bit off topic...the tech. called today BTW. Anyways I'll update that upgrade issue thread when it's finally done.

IMHO no ISP is perfect & I say this with decades of experience with various providers large and small. But Airtel and TPBB together give me what I want so I'll stick with them for now. Best combination all things considered at least for my requirements. Should Excitel ever come to Pune and to my residential area I may try em out too.
