Well whenevr i get connected to HSPA+ network (the speed depends on the network quality) the maximum i have got is 8mbps with a fair network coverage.. which is actually 2/5 network.. the maximum speed one can get in my area with HSPA+ is 16mbps. I wonder how will i get that and how to improve network quality on HSPA+ network in my area..

My current modem supports data transfer of upto 3mbps [3.2 mbps something]
Do you guys think I should purchase the 21mbps modem from Reliance?
Reason being there is a fair possibility of me getting more speeds than 3mbit, what say?

Ur modem must be 3.6 mbps one which is the slowest HSDPA category and u are getting extremely good speeds considering that. Yeah, U should go for a higher spec. modem if possible go for a 21mbps ready for future proof, u can definitely get better speeds.

Reliance too have its own data cards which are also Unlocked but its totally upto u which one u go for - a reliance one or other open market one.

Yeah, it's 3.6mbps :DI heard that the 21mbps modem is around 4.5k Can you suggest me some modem which supports both Reliance 3G and MTNL 3G?As MTNL 3G is running some promotional schemes which are of good value for money.

-Go for any unlocked modem, it will support 3G from all operators.-Yeah, Reliance is selling its 21 mbps modem for around 4.5k, it is unlocked so can be used with any operator sim, but too costly while comparing to Huawei UMG 1831 for

Well, I have posted a lot on how good Reliance 3G is. So, let me jazz it up a bit.
I am using it from past one month, so I have experienced it enough to conclude how it is.
Anyways, I won't recommend anyone to use it s a primary connection, because the service is full of ups and downs.

I tried to get settings for my phone and the server said, your device isn't listed. So no cookies for you.
I Googled and got the settings. Went to a shop to do a Net pack recharge, they said, "Reliance ka system pappu hai, so, sorry" ..hmm :isleep:
In mid February, I had trouble with MMS.
I called customer care that the MMS service is not activated on my phone.
They replied that your balance is zero, do a recharge and it will be activated.
I recharged my number, and tried to activate the MMS service, and all my balance got deducted bit by bit.

I called customer care again and a person speaking haryanvi listened to my querry and concluded that.
you basically have problem with GPRS, right? I was like /facepalm.
I said yes, then he forwarded my call to some higher authorities and I waited 8 minutes listening to that boring flute. Nothing happened.
After some days it got activated and I lost Rs5 for sending a MMS to my own number otherwise they won't register me.
My balance was again back to "0"
I recharged my phone again and subscribed to some internet plan. After 30mb of usage my balance was again back to zero, yup, "0"
hmmm.... did I mention the 1 week downtime? Yup, from the last week it was not working.
To be really honest there is a lot more, but, I just don't feel like recalling it all again.

The speeds I have posted above is result of some workaround.
That's what I am going to do with this piece of shit now :)
Paise tou wasool karne he hai :D

Hi Samm,I'm also using rcom 3G here in chandigarh and got very good speed initially but after 15FEB getting max 64KBPS. using the 51rs 1Gb plan :(dont know what happened to them but the service is really degarded after the so call upgradation (by cc).Can you please share the workaround so that i'm also able to paisa vasool :P

They are now tracking users, so be careful. After the above post, I received a survey call, they were asking what problems I am going through and shit. Some people have again cracked their Recharge server, it's yet to be revealed to me.Least I can do rite now is to help you set a free caller tune on your number.Bear in mind that I don't user Reliance as my primary number it's just a lappu sim for me that means my balance is 0PM me if you wan to give a shot to the Caller tune thing.

Oh thanks a lot,but i use RCOM as my primary sim so not trying the caller tune thing. BTW they are really very poor in administrating a lot of loopholes are there ;)
