Click the Menu button >> Make Available offline >> then select the map area you want(see the pic) and then press done.
Will be happy if i can download the complete City map on my android.

I think the level of detail is full, because the navigation tool requires complete/best detail while navigating. All this years, i used to download an offline map to my PC and then think of best possible route. I now think, google has mademy work even more easy.

you go to google maps .
i think you meant google navigation. and not google maps.
on tablet I have google maps as different product and navigation as different app, I dont think ios has google navigation app.

i've only used google maps in iOS, dont know whether google navigation is available for iOS.

manu can please check the level of details on map. cause for 59 Mb I dont know how much it can fir, lets try from chankyapuri to airport is it possible for you? I cant test it,
That would be impossible to test. Because for navigation to work, data connection is active, and once data connection is active, I can't know whether its downloading just route data or map data as well. BTW Sygic used to have an app called Aura and in that, the whole Delhi NCR map was ~34mb in size and it worked without internet. So this seems reasonable.

From where on earth did you get this info?
GPS is independent technology. I use sygic maps all the time i drive. location is always pin point. I have Galaxy Note which has A-GPS support and GLONASS. this is a deadly combination. gps with glonass provides very accurate location. While driving my location is correct upto 5m all the time. And to add on sygic do not require data.
Ipod touch doesn't have separate GPS dude ..its dependent on wifi/3G.

I've had the opportunity of using Google Maps on iPhone when I got lost in Patna, Bihar. It was pretty accurate. Also, I've often used it when travelling via trains to find out where I am.

My Galaxy Note is a pretty damn good GPS navigator. Ever since google introduced voice and transit navigation it has been extremely useful. The live traffic updates suck though as it shows all the roads as jammed. Then again, I live in Bangalore. :/

well the best maps are Apple MAPS!!Underwater roads, collapsed eiffel towers markers a mile away form their actual spot and much more :)jokes apart, Nokia maps is the best for india, turn by turn for win phones only
