The one I have is quite thick and well annoying to use with a mouse. It was fine with trackball.

so anyone here knows of a good large mousepad that is smooth to use? i have been using the amazonbasics one for the last 6 six years. i got a new piece of the same model this week and it is so much bad compared to what i have for so many years. i want the one that covers most of the table.

Amazon Basics Extended Rectangular Mouse Pad

this one is much thinner than the previous version. and also very rough on the surface. it is pretty much hurting my wrists lol. Amazon has a bunch of similar mousepads from other companies. just wanted to know if anyone uses one and is happy with any of them.

IKEA Mousepad

Using this since last couple of months. Good experience and smooth to use. Previously used Amazon Basics extended mouse pad which lasted for 5 years.

got the ikea mousepad and it is definitely much better than the shit amazonbasics was. hopefully i can get used to the change in mouse behavior. not a fan of the texture though but probably would get used to it with time.

Amazon has already rejected my review of the mouse twice for language lol. tried for the third time in super polite language. let's see if it gets posted lol.

I bought Tukzer from Amazon a few years ago. Don't know how it is compared to Basics. It's gotten dirty over the years and have to wash it soon. I am thinking of getting another one from Dawg and stacking them after washing it.

How do you guys wash your mousepads? I washed my previous Amazon basics one with handwash and a toothbrush to clean stains but it never came out super clean. Someone on reddit said to clean it with dishwash liquid but I am not sure if I am okay with the smell.

Yeah the texture is a bit weird I agree but quality is better for sure. I bought it in feb 2026 and it still looks clean. Amazon basics mousepad was a dust magnet and I had to wash it very often. After a few months of it's usage, it started to wear and shed off small rubber pieces which stuck on my table. Nothing like this with the ikea mousepad yet.

Btw how does your mouse behave differently? In my case it's pretty similar to amazon basics and I find it smoother.

i once washed the amazonbasics one in washing machine and it fucked up the lint filter. it still has blocked holes because of that experiment lol.

now i would just put it on the floor in bathroom. spray it with water. then put some detergent. spray water to foam it up. no scrubbing as that tends up fuck up the surface. and then let the water take care of the detergent. and put it on dry. whatever the detergent does on the surface is good enough for me.

it would not remove the stains. trying to remove the stains would just damage the surface. best is to use it for a few years and then just get a new one.

Yeah, brushing will just damage the surface and also no drying under the sun. Using something soft is the way. Also, I clean the desk daily with microfiber duster but that helps little as over time what gets left behind settles. The Dualsense controller is not white anymore even though I use a paintbrush to clean it daily. Might have to use a wet wipe.
