I do not think it's blocked because it shows inaccessible through VPN as well. I think it is just undergoing maintenance. Worst case scenario? It was hacked and they are working on restoring it.

Not everyone is aware in India of VPN/proxies. Also if it is opening through proxies it must be blocked in India.AlJazeera too is blocked in Reliance 3G.

Just had it confirmed. Its not accessible from the US.

yup. the blog has disappeared from firstpost servers. wordpress usually shows a under maintenance message when upgrades etc. are going on. so basically, some backend work is being done. it's definitely not blocked because you see the message from the server not something in between.
Working now.
