well somebody scared the shit out of kids and ran them awayALso baxilion YADA YADA YADA YADDAAA, told you many times TL; DR and I WONT unless you have something usefull to say....

Inspite of this, if they surprise us and do surface, and make a sincere effort to answer some of the many questions people have raised, or at least be honest and willing to learn if they don't know something, I'd be as happy to welcome them as you, or anyone else on the forum.
+1 to that. I'll too be welcoming fibernet to start such an endeavour if they are willling to, but by their attitude and knowledge base, that wasn't apparent. However, if they are serious in it, they are welcome to discuss about it on the forum.

Finally finished reading this thread :sigh:I think what Fibernet is planning is simple high speed LANs in apartments. The benefits are, If you have a friends' group in the apartment, one can download a movie and others simply need not spend data or time to download it. Suppose if someone is planning to try Windows 8, you can ask a friend with night unlimited to download and later share will all others through LAN (or the medium Fibernet plans to provide). People can take turn and download stuff and then share. Like one can download Bodyguard, another a game, and a 3rd person a different game or movie. By this, the net bill will come down drastically as you will find most things you want to download in LAN. Also we can use LAN for multiplayer gaming which otherwise is not very good considering the high ping and tariff ISPs for the lines ISPs offer. I think they are afraid to quote these benefits here as it is illegal activity. That is quite natural. It has some bad parts too. Like1. It is very hard to digest that you can just pay Rs. 3,000 and have it for lifetime considering the maintenance cost like electricity, equipment damage are nowhere mentioned.2. It is a quite feasible project if they can market it well. Though people from IIT has good IQ, they mostly fail in EQ part which is very essential for success in business. Doing business is not easy considering if this model found success and grow at a good pace, big guns will surely torpedo it.3. Secuirity is a main factor. May be they are true that with the system they have conceived, you may have less or no infection. But unless they upgrade their system on a regular basis (which depends on their huge acceptance and success), new technologies will make sure that it will not remain safe.

their plan is to offer a proprietary app for file sharing that would feature ads that would generate revenues for them. this is failure written all over it.

^^ after looking at chat transcriptions posted on mgcarley blog's i think they have pretty much done nothing !!! they have a long way to go for just preparing a basic feasibility report.

ooh fibernet guys are back reading this thread. i guess we would hear more responses on how ignorant we are.

^^ sorry but the ad proposition is way beyond imagination. Perhaps u should really get in touch with a ad agency to see the prospects. But simple wisdom would suggest ad agency will not buy ur idea.

another one of those unreasonable statements. you are not doing a charity. you cannot expect people to support you for something that you might deliver in the future. do not expect people to sympathize with you just because of what you believe personally deep down in your heart. this is a thankless market. if you cannot deliver what you are promising today, you get buried instantly. and here you are talking about getting support for something that does not even sound reasonable right now and could be useful in the future?
