Finally, got myself a Samsung Galaxy i9000!

Congrats. Were you able to see (feel) the phone before buying? If yes, was it a working phone? Because most mobile stores do not allow customers to use various features on the phone before buying. I always believe that unless you feel the phone -you cannot really determine if you will like it or not.
 
Thanks Cyberwiz buddy appreciate it.. Yeah you are right! I've had a series of symbians and a htc tytn 2 and I read you buddy.. Just curious were you able to upgrade your X10 OS to 2.1/2.2?

Nope dude, i havent rooted it yet.. waiting for froyo update from Sony..
 
last i heard they were to launch 2.1 later this month. any confirmed deadline on 2.2 delivery?

Hmm you cant feel everything before buying lol atleast in India (excuse my dirty pun here lol) Honestly I didnt touch or demo any phone.. Went directly, billed and got it in less than 5 mins lol But trust me for the first time in my life I got a phone without a demo and I DONT REGRET it! :) Cheers

Hmm my phone has a 2.1, heard 2.2 is coming by this month end if not earlier... *Fingers crossed* :) So what apps would you recommend for safety you android veteran? :)

ah well. no security apps for me. dont like the idea of running too many third party apps in the background. as for reviews... i have stopped installing random apps on the phone. if i read a real good review or recommendation, then only i check out. i found most of my current apps that way. playing around with random apps from the app market did not help at all :D
