yes but gtalk on android 1.6 doest have voice capability..donno if it supports voice on 2.1/2.2 even if it doesnt fring can be used..which allows one to call skype contacts as well

Hmm thanks for the suggestions friends! For some reason Vlingo wants an internet connection to operate which I dont really like...Also kalpik, am gonna try the apk which you provided.. Does it hold good only for google search or can we even issue phone commands like text abc etc.....Also there has been some confusion.. I dont want an app to make voip calls.. so I dont want Google voice..

i think you would need a net connection for voice recognition capabilities.

The apk I gave is google voice search for Android 2.1.. It has some basic commands, but not as full fledged as voice search for 2.2
