I am in Borivali, Mumbai. And the area in which i live, is one of the major, well-known ones......its about 12 minutes walking from the nearest Railway station - so you can imagine it can be an important area!!

I really hope that either they reach us fast, or you can reach us fast with similar costing!!

Costing we will have to see. Keep in mind that the price offered here is a Diwali promotional price for subscribers who join (or change plans) during Diwali, not a standard price - and additionally, you will need to pay tax and your cablewala on top of that.

If we could make that price work at present, we would, but ours will always appear higher since you don't have to pay any cablewala or taxes separately.

Maybe in Diwali 2011 we might be able to offer something like 100mbit/s flat-rate for something like Rs10k/year in a similar sort of promotion. Or maybe even in Holi. Or Ganpati. Or any number of festivals :D

Yeah i can understand that margin by the local cablewallah.....depending upon the type of plans offered, and your reliability, some premium would be acceptable. I am just waiting for the official plan announcements from your side, to make comparisons......in fact due to all this air of uncertainty, i have opted for Reliance as a makeshift option, and that too, not a very costly one.As it is i know that i am gonna shift to your service, or 5net or the like whenever i get....so not investing much in others now!!Btw, when u mention 100mbit/s, for 10k a year, just as an estimate, can you tell me what could be the 'FUP' limit - or no limit??

You should ask FiveNet if they have a "channel partner" in Borivili.

Btw, when u mention 100mbit/s, for 10k a year, just as an estimate, can you tell me what could be the 'FUP' limit - or no limit??

If it were a Diwali offer, we'd expect that only a "small" number of people would actually take up the offer - and by next Diwali we'd hope to be buying so much bandwidth that we wouldn't have to worry about an FUP. But we'll see what the situation is like in a year.

Any chances of reaching Mira Road ?

Fivenet you'd have to ask, for us we're aiming for 100% coverage of built-up areas except where it is literally impossible for us to do so (Kandivili W, Sion and Juhu/7 Bungalows seem to be off and on as to whether these are possible or not).

CarleyI had asked, and i knew it that it hasnt reached our area.....he said it would take few months may be.And about your plan by next Diwali - i really hope that happens!! There would be nothing like it when you can offer 100mbits/s, for around 10k or so, and that too without FUP, or may be very high FUP limit - i am damn sure that i wont be able to penetrate that limit!! Coz whatever is the speed, i dont need that much - say at max 30-40 GB a month......(I may be still quoting a higher number).

Duly noted.

Nice to see not everyone wants to raid the Internet of every single BD-RIP available on Bittorrent - For this amount of usage (

Then your current prices appear on a higher side for now!! And you said about 100mbit/s.....i wanted to know if you offered some lower speeds for some lower charges??Regarding that BD RIP - well, most of us who get hands on the Big screens - 42" for me.....with some latest tech - i have LED, and some real nice speaker system - Philips 5.1 channel for me.....They are bound to realise the importance of having BD-RIps, for today, and may be even larger, better screens & Speaker systems of tomorrow!!I am sure those 650 or 900 MB sized full movies wont do any justice to the kind of Rig i have mentioned, FORGET THE FUTURE RIGS that i am thinking of, and even you will be having a better idea of!!Oops sorry, i forgot to mention another relevant fact, that i connect my PC to this 42" LED using the HDMI!!So its but obvious for me to have BD-Rips of some of the best movies....i dont run after every average movie.

That depends on 1. How much your cablewala charges and 2. How much the service tax ends up being. And no, no lower speeds and lower charges as of yet. There is no point in us restricting the speeds on data plans, since the fiber cabling, the CPE and the gigabytes cost us the same whether we send data to you at 1mbit/s or 100mbit/s.

The exception to this is our wireless product, the details of which haven't been finalized, but 30GB per month would end up costing we think about Rs700 per month (roughly), and MAYBE if we introduce a VDSL-type product then there would be a lesser price also but I don't think it works out to be that much different.

We don't mind what/how much you download, but I was meaning that some people have suggested to us that they would basically sit around leeching every single BD-RIP available on TPB, which, although not expressly prohibited, isn't the *best* use of such a service. 40GB a month isn't that much by comparison to those people.

Yeah, i know!! Thats y i said "Normal" 40 odd GBs!! Coz i will put at max a movie or 2 that i can recall as 1 of the best into torrents......
