@chinmay,u missed 1 question. is your internet "always on" type of connection or u have to use some software to first login to use internet

Raspppoe mode, not always on!I have to dial connection, whenever I have to log in.

thanks chinmay for all the info. even my friend has been telling me about five net since a long time.but i need an always on connection too since i plan to have a voip phone within a month. so lets se what i can work out... something like mtnl rs. 200 plan just for the voip phone & another plan from five net perhaps... & that too if its available in my area ;)

Hi guys!!! Is it worth shifting to five net from mtnl!!! Should i give a second thought!!!But I guess Five net will not be as reliable as MTNL,because it is distributed via cable operator!! what say??I guess many pple on this forum would shift from mtnl to five net right because of its new plans right?????

Yeah man, many people are shifting.I already prevented some 16 people from joining MTNL and shifted 10 to fivenet. In fivenet u'll find initial installation cost a bit high, but that's quite understandable, after all its d switch ka cost which is bared by ur cable operator. And after all, is there any ISP in India who can provide u 384kbps Unlimited connection just for 400 bucks per month??Not thats all u r getting exclusive user shared content on LAN which u can download at speeds upto 100 mbps.Even airtel's 16mbps plan cant provide u that much speed. All this at very affordable cost!Highly recommended for frustrated MTNL users and youngsters!!:thumb:

^^ cable operators charges are extra384 kbps = rs. 550-600 / month depending upon areabut still thats better than all others.do u know anyone who has taken their night unltd plans?the plans are 300 kbps - 3 Mbps, 150 MB / day, night unltdwhat speeds do people actually get?

all I know other than UL plans is that 80C plan->Speed can go upto 25 Mbps in day and 256kbps in night.Myself experienced speed of 15 Mbps at friend's house, but during day!!:wall::wall:Im with as384 UL plan.I bet no other ISP in india can provide such high bandwidth at such a fantastic rate!FIVENET RULZ!!

But in five net there would be a lot of disocnnections for sure since it is through cable operator.Atleast in a month 2 to 3 times or more!!!In triband, there are hardly any disconnections, unless it is a line problem!!!! what say!!!

i was asking about USS256 (Anytime Internet plans)can u just ask around if anyone has taken this plan or any similar anytime internet plan (since you have got 10 of your friends/relatives into fivenet)USS256: 256 kbps to 3 mbps, 150 MB/day, night unltd (9 p.m. to 9 a.m.)if they are providing speeds on the higher side only then i'm interested. i'm currently on 2 mbps night unltd by mtnl. so if they say 256 kbps to 3 mbps & provide speed in the range of 256 - 512 kbps i'm not interested. also 384 kbps total unltd wont be enough to download what i manage to download with my 2 mbps plan
