i wanted to set up an ftp server using no-ip.now i have set up a host on no-ip and have downloaded their dynamic update client. i have also applied rules on the router. no problems here.im having trouble with starting the server. when i start filezilla, it asks for the server address and password. what am i supposed to enter there? do i have to enter the host i created on no-ip? and how do i go about it from there?you can suggest any other server client you think is better. i just used this as it was mentioned in the thread.(as you can see im a noobie in this. :ashamed:)

well, i think u're using the filezilla client and not the filezilla server...just download the filezilla "server" and "Start FileZilla Server"...make users by running "FileZilla Server Interface" and then try to connect the server with your client...let us know if u still face any problem...enjoy!!! :D

i installed filezilla server only. (itna bhi noob nahi hoon yaar :p)i started filezilla server and tried connecting with filezilla server interface but it gives this error.Connected, waiting for authenticationProtocol error: Unknown protocol identifier (0x50 0x50 0x48). Most likely connected to the wrong port.Connection to server closed.i have given the correct port 21.ok i got connected with filezilla interface server. now i created a user and tried connecting with smartftp but it says 'login incorrect' even though i have entered the correct password. i created an anonymous user but still it gives the same error. :(

damn now the DUC isnt updating the ip.showing an error. :madness:will try later.
