Relatively, yes. The massive price cuts on Spark did help. But to really be able to get volumes, these guys need more service centers - far more than they have now - and definitely more sales centers. Some areas don't have a GM showroom for hundreds of kilometers.

wow, i didn't know maruti had 50% market share, is it completely suzuki owned or does govt still control a part of it?

It is primarily an Indian company. The govt has sold most [or all - not sure about this] of its stake over the years. Works very similar to the Hero - Honda relationship.

but suzuki owns majority in it from what i know. that's why new models use the suzuki logo instead of the maruti logo on the grill and the steering.
