Alright, i seem to have understood the steps more or less i have to take.....now can someone confirm if the site "Samfirmware.com" is good? I mean wherever i went at most places ppl have posted rar files & the password to open that file is the words i wrote in quotes.

I m keeping that as last resort option. Before that, i want to learn to come out of these kind of troubles. As it is if i mod my phone, i will be required to go thru some of these steps!

Samfirmware is pretty good. They only provide stock ROMs, but with bootloaders. Flashing a ROM alongwith bootloader is a bit risky and chances of hard bricking it is more i.e. if something goes wrong with your PC like BSOD, or loose USB connection etc will screw your mobile. Do it with extreme caution. I suggest you to head over to XDA and read flashing instructions properly.

Ok, i have got the phone out of coma finally. Now, i m trying to get ICS in that very manner.....from XDA. That link you posted is for official firmwares. If your phone is already running it, this won't give you anything new. If you need ICS, you will need to check the other thread which has the leaked ROM. Mind you the ROM is for the Chinese market, though it does have English language

@ Sushubh....The thread there was for 19100 & not the G model. Actually the thread title suggests that. I have just downloaded it, but its a 7zip file & Odin is not recognising it!@ Agantuk.....I dont want to go for Custom ROMs for sure. But the other day Sushubh posted a tweet which showed that someone got ICS with TW, which means it was on a Samsung phone. The link i gave contains 1 ICS Official ROM, and even there the comment mentions that it has got Touchwiz. So may be its just for S2.Still i m waiting for u guys' opinions!

my question was... do you know the model you have? you cannot install firmware designed for i9100 on i9100g model and vice versa.

Ok, my model is i9100, and not the G model. I had checked it on my box & in the About phone as well.
