I just want the ability to gift the Tapatalk app to folks here who are looking for it and are not willing to pay for it (or are not able to pay for it).XDA has both versions. The premium version is ad free, apart from adding a few minor enhancements.
Reg. gifting an app, I would suggest you go the Amazon route. Would solve your problem.
Create a gift card: https://www.amazon.com:443/gp/gc/order-email?ie=UTF8&occasion=Amazon.com%20Stores&design=appstore_11_us
Give it to the person who you want to gift it to.
That person can then get the app using the gift card from Amazon.com: Tapatalk Forum App: Appstore for Android

It is accessible from my phone. I was also able to install their free app of the day once. It is another thing that the app was useless.

actually i have managed to get it installed on my phone 
it has not worked for me as well. just tried it. installed fine. i enabled one-click purchase. but installation of any app does not work as it stops at the payment processing step.
