i guess Amazon settings have to be proper for it to work. your amazon account is connected to an american address? :D

There is a way of getting it working in countries other than US, I've used it some time back. I think there is s post on xda explaining the same .

My last shipping address is American, though I do have Indian addresses on my account. May be that's the reaosn.

I see a business opportunity here, though Google would go mad. Too bad that an already low earning store doesn't have enough options for people who want to pay.

i think Apple offers a way to gift apps on the apple app store. not sure though.

google is not great on gifting. i cannot gift paid storage on google apps for example.

flickr lets me gift pro accounts. there is a huge business opportunity here.

they already have everything in place. every google account would have a connected google wallet account.

This is what Apple does: iTunes Gift Options

Smart and convenient. Like with most stuff iOS nowadays.

Google has its own payment gateway but not a way to gift stuff. They need to start generating real revenue now. Ad based money will not please investors for long. They need to innovate and get people to pay for what they make. Something contrary to their image

Don't know why it didn't strike me earlier. If you have a HDFC or an ICICI credit card, you can create a virtual credit card for the amount of the app and give those details to someone you want to share it to. Your account remains safe since the VCC will hold only as much as you mention it to. Address can be a fake one if you are concerned as that won't have any bearing on the sale. So can the name of the card holder. What I am not sure about is if these cards also require a two step authentication as these are single use cards.

Now there are a few things i wud ask over here.....1) Until i m getting an app for free officially, i dont think i shud pay. The last time i got it from Samsung app store & it was absolutely free. Although older version, but it was working well & it was free.2) If that is not an option any more, i will have to shift to the paid version, coz i still see the utility in the app. The only thing is - is the paid app licence for long enuf period, or is it yearly or something?3) The next question is on Google Wallet. Now i dont know much about its safety. So can u guys just briefly tell me whether its safe or not to register my card with Google Wallet?May be it wud sound funny for many of u, but i m not sure whether it would be safe to connect my Card with Google at a time when i have numerous other services linked to Google, some of which even i might have forgotten.PS: Sushubh....i know this sounds cynical, but thats how i m when trying to figure out something new! :D

1. If the app is available for free through official stores, I guess it's great then. 2. The app is of course paid for lifetime unless they change their policy with a major upgrade. Could happen. 3. I have my card registered on Google Wallet because I pay for Google Storage and Google Android Apps. It's sort of risky because international payment gateways do not ask for the password that is mandatory on Indian payment gateways.

According to me, Google Wallet is pretty safe. I have my credit card linked to it since the last six months now, no issues at all. I've bought a bunch of apps like Titanium Backup Pro, Wifi File Explorer Pro, Root Explorer and most of the apps which was given during the 10 cents app giveaway and also Gmail additional storage.

If you are so skeptical to use it, you can put the card details on Google Wallet, make the purchase, and then delete the card details.
