Updated my N6 as well as Dad's Canvas A1 to 6.0.1

I did not get 6.0.1 update on my A1. Do we need to keep phone connected to WiFi for longer duration so it detects update?
From last 2-3 days I connect to WiFi, go to check updates, phone displays no update available. I disconnect WiFi. But I remember for earlier minor update after getting 6.0, I got notification after 15-30 minutes when phone was kept connected to WiFi.

It's completely random afaik. I did not wait for the OTA and I just downloaded the OTA zip and flashed it manually.
All Marshmallow users out here. Do you guys have duplicate contacts after installing WhatsApp or Telegram?
