Thats right XOLO One was not part of Android One, yet XOLO has managed to release Lollipop update to its phone. I wonder if XOLO is just trying to outplay Micromax/Spice/Karbonn by releasing upgrade early.

I personally don't want to rush into upgrade soon, if upgrade is full of defects. I would rather wait for some more time for stable upgrade

My Canvas A1 got Lollipop like menu bar, apps tray and Google search bar, but android version is 4.4.4 . Anyone else there with the same

^^^ Except App Tray, mine A1 UI looks same like yours. I am also on 4.4.4 (obviously).
App tray on my A1 is transparent black displaying image from standby screen.

BTW I can see notifications in lock screen by pulling down notification bar. I thought this feature was present only after Lollipop?

My A1 was discharged since morning, once i came home and plugged it back, the phone switched on with this interface (Around 3:30 PM) .
Only the App Tray has changed.

this is the google now launcher i believe. so it was not an os update. just the launcher update.

I have lots of apps having pending update which mostly includes Google apps. I am just holding back my data to update phone instead of upgrading individual apps
Therefore I may be having old Google launcher.

Google's Android launcher lets you pretend you're using Lollipop

As of today, you only need to make sure you're using both the Google Now Launcher and a new version of Google's search app. The update gives you some of Lollipop's Material Design look in the Google search bar, app tray and some animations; previously, the launcher mimicked whatever version of Android you were running.

So this may be the reason why Kitkat looks like Lollipop
