right. i remember reading your comment. man. i still wait for the update. god knows how many times i have checked in on the google servers :)

update would start rolling out again, chill! :Por, buy Galaxy nexus! :D (when its out!)

that is of course the plan. though might skip it if samsung comes up with bullshit pricing. i heard that ics runs just fine on nexus s.

yep, i got my hands on the nexus s. it's smooth. though there was a problem with quick battery drainage but that was when wifi/3g/edge was used throughout the day. other than that, no problems are/were faced.i liked the ICS very on that phone.

I am also waiting for ICS update fro my Nexus S. Is the release of the update controlled by the carrier or is it just Google who will be involved here?

our phones are not really connected with the carriers right? mine is a US purchased model running on Airtel. i got all the gingerbread updates automatically. though usually delayed. so i am not surprised i am yet to get ICS :)

Good that these Vodafone/Airtel guys don't have anything to do with this, hopefully these idiots won't create a new rule to block updates via GPRS/3G :fool: .

Root the phone and install Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha 18 :) I've been running pre-alpha, beta and now stock rooted ICS builds for almost 2 months now. ICS just rocks. Nexus S never felt smoother and more beautiful than this.

The offical build is no different from the many AOSP (Android Open Source Project) builds by some recognized devs at XDA Forums. I do know that Google has pulled back the ICS rollout due to a high CPU usage bug which impacts the battery life. Its been apparently fixed in the AOSP builds at XDA Forums. Don't know if Google has patched the build.
