i think i tried that, but it didnt work that time. may be i did something wrong. will check again next time i login.

its irritating actually. u need to click exactly on the checkbox. anywhere around it and the dropdown opens up. a lot of people are annoyed with it if i am to believe the response on the gmail forum... hoping that google would revert this particular change. or at least make available a labs option to open up selection menu.

any heavy user of gmail here? is the new edition of gmail faster than before? i see a pretty decent performance improvement!

the new compose button is seriously very distracting.

I am a 'heavy' user - not sure what that means though :D I don't see any noticeable difference in loading times. Also the new look is immaterial for me since I rarely ever use those buttons and options mentioned. I use only the keyboard, and my area of focus is the inbox list :D Baaki sab moh maaya :P

speed as in opening up new messages. deleting them. it seems to have improved a lot at my end. i had started using offline gmail with flaky connection mode because of the slowness!

Hmm... Now that you mention I do notice a minor improvement when opening messages. Other stuff is still the same.

yeap. there is definitely an improvement in going through mails quickly. i have totally stopped using the offline mode because it is silky smooth now! i go through 150-200 mails on a daily basis. so this is good stuff. though i still need to rely on thunderbird to sort messages when it gets too crowdy in my inbox.
