It's simple, the govt should not be able to book you for saying you hate a person, a book, a religion, a practice, a community, a philosophy etc. so long as you don't advocate killing others over it. PERIOD!
Taking offense is not a valid reason. If you start killing ppl over it then you get banged up not the person you blamed for starting it.
