Hard Disk probably on the verge of crashing

hehe. it's a 1TB drive and does not have anything relevant. all of my important data is backed up on the cloud. just some media content downloaded from the web. even if i talk to my local dealer, the drive i want would only be delivered in 2 days time. so would probably order through flipkart because of the 30 day replacement warranty.

Why online always when you get the same for 5.8k in shops. And 3 TB internal shop price is 9k. Both segate n WD 7200 rpm ...

so one year warranty on the 3TB drive. 2 years on the 1TB drive. kya majaak hai.
I think i read somewhere that 3TB HDD's have a higher failure rate.

Download and install Hard Disk Sentinel. It should tell you your hard drives condition. Other softwares including Sea Tools is not worth using.

HD tune is the best out there.@chromy: you are using a very old version of hdtune. use the latest one v 5.0

this was the latest free version available on the website :\i mean it is clear that the hard disk has bad sectors. is it not enough to seek a warranty replacement? i have already asked the prices for the hdd models and would get a new one tomm!
