Honda 2 wheelers is a joke. They couldn't manage even 10% of what their 4 wheeler division has been able to achieve in India. The Unicorn remains starkly similar to what it was when launched 5 years back, and Shine and Stunner aren't really anywhere near great stuff either. They should start an engine outlet. That's about the best they can do.

i assume hero might get the rights to keep the honda branding for a couple of years. most such partnerships allow this. but i would say the biggest problem for hero group would be the loss of honda's engines and other tech expertise. bajaj from what i see has pretty much become independent. they now own a couple of international companies (KTM is one i believe)... i do not think hero group has much expertise or IPs when it comes to engine tech. i could of course be wrong. but i have not seen them come out with homegrown technologies.
Well Hero must be knowing what its doing, because it has paid so much money to Honda. Plus engine they can continue to get from Honda.. why wud Honda deny them engine when its going to get order of lakhs of engines a year?
