So i have recently got bsnl ftth service and its been good, lot better then traditional adsl2 system, So speed is great too but i want someone to look at these parameters of fibre cable and please help me to find out about the quality of fibre cable, So here are these parameters ......and i am unable to understand them.

EPON StateRegistered and certified
OAM_LinkEstablished

Optical Module Input Power(dBm)-17.4
Optical Module Output Power(dBm)2.0
Optical Module Supply Voltage(uV)3330000
Optical Transmitter Bias Current(uA)11582
Operating Temperature of the Optical Module(°C)61

First of all I want to correct everyone... -25 is greater than -26.

So Receiving Light Power should be more than -26.

What is ideal value range for Receiving Light Power.

Using Railwire connection from LCO, and I have this:

EPON StateRegistered and certified
OAM_LinkEstablished
Optical Module Input Power(dBm)-30.4
Optical Module Output Power(dBm)0.8
Optical Module Supply Voltage(uV)3417000
Optical Transmitter Bias Current(uA)12150
Operating Temperature of the Optical Module(°C)26

It falls to -31 during the day and back up to -29 at night.
Reported to LCO, but they don't give a damn if the connection is working.

The PON status of my FTTH line is as shown in the table below. The Rx Power is always around -27 to -28. I experience connection drops seldom and it automatically restores back after some seconds to minutes. Do I need to call the cable service to check it? Is the Rx Power of this device is good at this range?

Vendor NameOptilink
Temperature56.074219 C
Voltage3.389600 V
Tx Power2.040682 dBm
Rx Power-27.447268 dBm
Bias Current11.220000 mA

My optical power is -35.8, but somehow net still works. Should I register a complain? What are the bad effects of such low power fiber connection

@harshil , I think you should. Mine is shown as -16.

Optical Module Input Power(dBm)-16.0
Optical Module Output Power(dBm)2.4
Optical Module Supply Voltage(uV)3378000
Optical Transmitter Bias Current(uA)14050
Operating Temperature of the Optical Module(°C)43

Are you getting full speed? And say during streaming 4k etc, does it often buffer or decrease resolution? These are apt reasons to complain. You could politely mention the power when the LCO arrives to check :)

Optical Module Input Power(dBm)-4.0
Optical Module Output Power(dBm)1.4
Optical Module Supply Voltage(uV)3376000
Optical Transmitter Bias Current(uA)19150
Operating Temperature of the Optical Module(°C)36
-4.0 is fine? :O was -13 last time
