@varkey @Ameen There is something wrong with BSNL.
I'm getting single-digit latency to Calicut Airtel servers and Thrissur Kerala Vision servers.

@Samuel nice question... 😊 I do like it.. 😉

The simple answer is" I, like many -don't have an option for any other provider, other than bsnl. And moreover this state of bsnl just started at the beginning of this month over kerala.
It used to be pretty stable and good as of Feb. So if they can correct it, then it would be of great help". 😊

Damn. I was stuck with MTNL for a long time, I remember the agony. Even getting a disconnection was a pain.

Why don't people simply leave BSNL and switch to other players? I always wonder. :rolleyes:
Well the issues are from February onwards .But till then BSNL had given me the best speeds at all time with good latencies and zero downtime . They are also quicker to respond especially when I didn't get voip first,they have consistently contacted till my complaint has been rectified. I didn't have any issues with them till February 1st week.The issues started then onwards. Maybe they are also affected by mass vrs happened in bsnl and the botnet attack

FYI these are my speeds on Airtel Gigabit. I get 700-800+ across a wide range of servers in India, EU, USA, Asia, etc. Downloading from YT through IDM I get around 115 MBps. Speeds are more or less nearly full Gigabit even during testing COVID-19 times. To Airtel’s local servers I’ve seen as high as ~900 D and 940 U on SpeedTest.net. On Fast.com I’ve seen it go as high as 1.5 Gbps download and maybe 1.1+ Gbps upload for brief seconds. This is all during Corona times.

Ping, jitter are both slightly higher these days. Not by much.

Facing occasional packet loss of 0.3 to 3%. Especially to Bharti servers. This wasn’t the case earlier.

Here in kerala we dont much options like jio fiber airtel etc. The only big one is asianet broadband and I had their cable broadband and it was just plain shit,connection drops speed drops tired of calling them and they were not ready to deploy fiber that time .Also as compared to bsnl they have some kind of speed capping for instance if u have 50 mbps plans max we will get it 48 mbps nothing more but less always .With bsnl the speeds just maxes out above 50 mbps most of the time till February

Over Wifi

P.S. In my basement I get higher speeds.

I used to get higher speeds in my room, but now I have 1 Orbi Router and 4 Satellites spread over a 2080 sq ft floor, so the top speeds have decreased due to congestion. But not by much. It’s almost as fast, but ever so slightly slower than before. RBR50 and 4 RBS50 (kit RBK50 AC3000).
