How to check BSNL Broadband Account Usage?

There are 4 sources to check your usage. 2 BSNL portals, 1 BSNL software, 1 Independent software.

1. BSNL - Broadband Account Management , values in KB.

2. BSNL Portal, values in MB, user friendly.

3. Both these sites can be down at times. BSNL sites do not update on real time basis. Today's usage is shown after 2 days. So most of us use a Bandwidth meter. Click here to download.

4. A software from BSNL can help us check the usage without using the portal. BSNL also provides SMS and email alerts when you cross your usage limit.

On 31st May 2009, month end usage was not available on both URLs

When we cross the limit they charge us for every MBs,
at the same time they don't provide the usage data in month end.

If we know were we are, we could use the net accordingly, not to cross the free limit.

Minister Raja must take this problem as his first task.:wall::wall::wall:

How to bring this matter to his notice?
Please advice.

Why not we all send a fax msg to his New Delhi office???

Please post his fax number... if anybody know the number.

After posting this message at around 11:40pm I checked

and I could able to check my usage upto 4:30pm (31/May/2009).

It gave me a bit relief.

But BSNL must provide upto the minute data.

When they provide upto the minute data for cell phone network ,
why not for broad band network??

Woh woh that is something.....
Though As You have Mentioned in Late Edit,... I was too able to check The Account Usage using the Link

However you are true to great extent,.... there portals are really very slow.... and is not up todate in realtime situation......
But telling to minister wont do any good in this relation...... And talking or forwarding the technicals and officials will only help out here....

For Nu meter can be stopped from 0200- to 0800

Switch off modem around 0155 and restart at 0205 etc.

and again switch off modem at 0755 AM.

@essbebeIf you can find time, please post a review of Tautology Bandwidth meter. I use Shaplus. It is very good. But will be happy to hear a user's view on Tautology Bandwidth meter. I also use Bitmeter. It help me see the current download speed. Also it helps me check if there is any unauthorized download. Earlier when I was not downloading, some malware in my system was doing that. I could spot it on the graphical display of Bitmeter. But it is completely unreliable. It resets without warning. It happened twice this month.

compared for more than two years.
started Tautology late.( for difference in readings for today)

Neither will record VOIP traffic.
(example Vonage)
( only traffic via ethernet card )

I have to use these only for forum use/test purposes. .

Datafox is PERFECT for me .

Was really helpfull....
Am actually Using ShaPlus Bandwidth meter....And is actually quite helpful for me...For now....

Though I assume it is Accurate...And Dont Give Junk.....Information.....And track only the right download and upload....
I am saying so...As I have used software similar to it...But it gave junk info...And Counted the dwn..And Upld.....Much higher than what exactly it was

Also would shaplus continue to count any dwn and upload..If I am connected to LAN network...But am not connected to Net as that is also A issue of concern here for me....



However will also use Datafox here.... As I am Night Unlimited plan..So keeping track of the night usage also become important...
One help here though...Is Datafox safe enough,.,..... That is......the software privider had never caused any breach of trust no...... Causing any harm to us or leeching the account...And something like.that...Just asking out of curiosity.......To make myself comfortable with the software


One more thing I have to ask...Can I know the name and the link of First Application which you are showing with large Window in your pic....

One more thing I am using the Latest version of Datafox here...with My Mozilla Firefox 3.5 Beta.....Though the application seems to quite compatible....


But as I give the ID AND PASSWORD WHAT I use at
to login and determine the Usage at

1) http://bbservice.bsnl.in/

2) http://data.bsnl.in/wps/portal ...(Note this is more preferred one for me...As this portal is comparitively much faster....And also provides result in much better format than previos one)


And then select the portal http://bbservice.bsnl.in/ after ticking the override deafualt domain checkbox......:cool2:

The busy icon keeps on rotating and I am not able to get the Usage....
WHAT COULD BE THE POSSIBLE PROBLEM OUT HERE please help me....:ashamed:

Also I wonder why they havent provided the portal http://data.bsnl.in/wps/portal
And have only provide http://data.bsnl.in/...which doesnot seem to work nice...and need some edit in coding..:cool2:


Anyways....the Application ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter which has been preferred by you peoples only seems to be quite nice
However...I have night unlimited plan...So I need to keep track of Byted that are not Counted...So I really need a good Realtime Online retriever......:thumb:

Please help me ...And Tell me if I am doing anything wrong here in the Settings....
