i have a insider newssome of their stbs are malfunctioning. After receiving lot of complaints from their insiders,they hold launch.
They are working on resolve the issues.

Apart from the STBs , their software is also haing problems. Sometimes the categories go away, sometimes the program schedule is not available ... so seems like a long way ..

Yep ... probably it will match their LCD + Dish offer too .. BTW .. Im planning to get an LCD .. which one to go for ? Sony is my choice

i actually think Hitachi has better quality when compared to Sony. but it would really depend upon the model you get. sony is generally slightly more expensive compared to LG or Samsung. Hitachi and Sony are usually priced in a similar bracket.

well hitachi,toshiba and samsung doesnt even come close to the contrast produced by samsung and sony which have 3 times more static contrast then AIPS based panels of hitachi,pana,tosh.

the sony lcd have just 30% less contrast compared to the best plasmas like pioneer compared to hitachi which are around 200% less contrast then pioneer plasmas.

well today i spoke to the custumer care for close to 2 hrs finaly they passed the call to there superiors and they took down all the problems in Big tv stb and software,the person who isnt from the custumer care department took down my list of problems one by one and he said he is going to escalate the matter,and he thanked me for the valubale feedback and also thanked me that i gave the feedback before the commercial launch,since i said that i wasnt the only one who is facing the problem and there hell of a lot more people facing the problems,so he finally concluded that they will postpone the launch and they will launch only after all the problems and glitches solved.:thumbsup: he also said they are under pressure to launch it fast from the BIG tvs top higher officials.

Yes, I believe on what you said.THEY are under EXTREME PRESSURE.Today I called up (someone senior) a person who gave me his personal cell number and asked me to call anytime (24 x 7) as soon as i face any problem (even before lodging a complaint to call center). I told him that i lost signals since an hour or so and he said that dont worry, i am immediately sending someone to your place. I put the phone down and his engineer called me within a minute to ask for my address (but fortunately i got the signals back that time so i told him not to visit now).The way these people are curious to resolve (and look after) the issues clearly shows the pressure they have on their shoulders. Not just those who are working at BIG TV main office at Mumbai but everyone (from seniors to juniors and from office staff to field staff) from different regions are all under pressure to get anything/everything working properly.Well, all i can say is that they are working harder and may be not smarter. I think they must hire staff from TS by offering a good package. Then only i can see their launch on next date they plan else it would be keep delaying.

launch is round the corner if not today. Web site has changed. Dealers list is there. Ofcourse they have not written about the price part. You can send a order by e-mail or phone if you dont have dealer nearby. You can collect the STB etc if dealer is nearby. the offer may be atractive as they are limiting the offer to maximum of 4 STB per person.

I have a LG '32 Scarlett LCD TV...works like charm at a contrast ratio of 50000:1, response time of 4ms & all the specs compared to other TV's in the market are higher. I paid around 50k for all of this but a similar Sony tv with lesser specs would set me back by 75-80K !!!But still when i sometimes look at a Sony TV with 15000:1 contrast ratio etall i somehow feel it's better....I have used different lcd tv & agree to the fact Sony is better.When i was talking to a person in product group of a reputed company he was telling me that all of the LCD tv's build quality is more or less the same, all you need to do is play around with the display settings such as brightness, contrast, color etc to get the best out of your lcd TV & the best TV's in market are the one's which the best settings already done in factory....Any comments on this guys ?

I hve a Sony Bravia X series 46inch, as far as I know the X series hasn;t launched in India yet but its lower version W series is there in India.The price in India is about 2-3 lakhs.I don't really agree about the settings point you make.Maybe Samsung and Sony can be compared but LG is far behind in terms of technology. Well I tried Tata Sky on it here in qatar, looked rubbish VCD quality so i threw it away. Im currently using Pehla which is a bit expensive but gives actual DVD quality Indian and english boquet channels, and these look amazing on the tv.I also download HD movies onto my laptop and connect it to my TV and HD looks outstanding, but a Full HD 40 minute TVshow is 8GB so its a waste of time downloading but its amazing.I think you might be comparing the quality of TV coming on ur set against the images they show in the Sony Showroom.In the sony shop they put on HD movies and currently the only way to get content of that quality in India is PS3.
