I have bsnl's Home 900 plan which offers 256kbps speeds but i have tested the net speed through speed test and the results shows only a speed of 145 to 160 kbps speed.how can i get the full offered speed?
^ the speed depends on different factors - however ,get your line checked by BSNL people . ask to replacethe cable if required ( you may have to pay for this )
I will have to disagree with u jerin. See for DSL or ADSL for that matter, speed is largely dependent on the telephone wire condition, the distance from the exchange. Because as the distance increases the attenuation also increases. The increase in attenuation brings forth lower SNRs. So its all dependent on each other.
Still the wire condition does play the most important part in the speed of the net, at least with me. I paid the lineman to change the wire from the pole to my home and things improved drastically
