Just to come out and perform against people who taunted him continuously as Sir Jadeja itself is a great feat. Coming from a small town he has pushed his way to the top with hard work.
DOnt compare him with watson, watson plays as an opener of No.3

Does Watson has 3 first class triple hundreds? Wasn't he labeled as a genuine all-rounder by Dhoni himself. What happened to that? He has turned out to be a good bowler in spinning conditions but his attitude towards batting sucks. All we need is a good 30-40 from him time to time which was actually the need in first odi vs NZ. But he batted worse than a tailender. We are not asking him to score centuries. As for Watson he started as a 7-8 batsman but he developed himself to go at top of batting. That's commitment cos he knows in Aus team you have to constantly earn your place. While in Indian team perform once in 10 matches and you are set for another year.

Watson bats at same position both at national and international levels.
Watson came debuted in 2002 and it took him close to 8 years for a place in the team. With the present scores as a top 3 batsman, he would not be in top 3 of any country. He is persisted by Aus, just cos he can bowl and he is a genuine all rounder. Remember him getting out similar way in almost all matches recently, all LBW. For someone who bats in top 3, he must have the worst average.
The problem is that India's batting is strong. Once in a while Jadeja might get a chance to bat and that too with 1-2 overs remaining (in ODIs). In tests its still early days for him.
Tell me how many batsmen in the world how bat so low all through their career has consistently scored 30-40s?
BTW Jadeja Averages 30 in ODIs :)

Averages don't tell the true story. You aren't getting the point. It doesn't matter what his average is. He doesn't perform with bat when needed. Give me one match in which he has batted well and took us to victory in a long time. Faulkner has done it twice now for Australia. We lost to SA cos our tail can't bat and there did. Jadeja is not a tailender. He is regarded as a proper batsman. He used to perform consistently for rajasthan Royals with bat. So what happened now? It's easy to see he is not interested cos now he knows he will stay in team as a bowler. That's my point. His lack of commitment towards batting. I hope many remember same thing happened with Watson. He started ignoring his bowling cos he was batting good but Aus selectors and captain told him he is supposed to contribute with ball too and he has to return to bowling. While in Indian team no one gives a Damn.

If a bowling average of 32 and batting average of 30 is not enough for someone who bats at 7 and bowls spin

A similar allrounder, Shakib Al hasan of Bangladesh who is considered a premier all rounder has bowling average of 30 and batting average of 35 (at No 4/5)

If you are not happy with this and need a combo of warne and bevan, then all the best!

Please. Jadeja looks pathetic while batting. Even a no. 11 of SA and Aus bats better than him. To say that he is now a bowler and so him getting constantly out for ducks is acceptable is ridiculous. He should have learned from people like Watson and Faulkner. But as he knows Dhoni will play him anyway so no effort been made to improve his batting. That's why we gonna lose again with Dhoni playing ppl like Raina, Ishant, Rohit, Ashwin.
I have never said him getting out for cheap is acceptable .. Ofcourse since he is batting at 7 he must contribute decently with the bat .. If he had applied some logic then India could have come closer in the 1st ODI .. Kohli had to go for his shots when Jadeja got out .. He even batted stupidly in the Joburg test match .. All im saying is hes our no 1 spinner and if he has forgotten how to bat then India needs another all rounder in place of Ashiwn or Ishant Sharma and our best option right now is Stuart Binny ..
In short to sum it up Jadeja cant be dropped as he is bowling the best amongst the chosen spinners .. So Dhoni needs to get Binny also in .. And frankly Rohit opening and Rahane at no 5 is a mistake in ODIs .. They must swap these places with Rahane opening and Rohit coming in at no 4- 5 ...

Not saying throw Jadeja out. Play him. He bowls better than Ashwin. But teach him to contribute with bat. We can't win world cup again without contributions from lower half as it will be on hard and bouncy tracks and not subcontinent pitches. Dhoni has lost his mind or he is too absorb in past glories he has lost sight of future goals. Raina fails he plays. Rohit fails he plays. Ishant, Ashwin same story. But no chances for Rayadu. No indication of giving chance to binny. This is complete favoritism and we can't win shyt like this. Our stats abroad currently - 4 odis - 3 lost and one no result. 2 tests - 1 lost and 1 draw. Not a single win.

Yes I agree with you more than 100% that we need contribution from lower order also .. See Aussie they now have 3-4 genuine all rounders in Johnson , Coulter Nile , Faulkner , Watson... India will not do well in 2015 purely because our bowling sucks and now even batting is getting shaky .. We cant expect Virat to make 100 everytime .. I think if Virat fails India will struggle to make even 230 on current form ...

It is apparent that there is very little sanity that prevails over Jadeja when he's batting. I would be OK had he had a batting record like Ashwin or Bhuvneshwar Kumar. That is where it gets frustrating. And frankly, Ashwin is also becoming a home track bully. His average while bowling in tests has to be more than 80, overseas. And we have discussed about the failure of Rohit Sharma and his role in the Indian team a gazillion times. Not even a single 50 after that scripted series against WI he has scored thus far. And as I have always believed, Rahane is more of a test player. He can succeed much in that league than in the limited overs format. Need to give a string of chances to Rayudu and Binny since conditions will be more conducive for medium pace bowling for the latter and also it should give both the players a lot of confidence. Ishwar Pandey should be given a chance as well since he has had a decent FC record, the last couple of seasons.

Let's just correct that record to 10 tests - 9 lost and 1 draw since we haven't registered a single victory yet.

I remember the 90s and 2000s and India did not even have an all rounder (Prabhakar was the last one at that time)
You need to understand that a player cannot play well consistently, especially all rounders. Typical they do good with bat and ball in the same match very rarely. That is where specialists are to do the job.
A no7 averaging 30 is good (not great), but when he is an allrounder, that average is very good
And if you expect a spinner to have good bowling figures on those pitches (seaming and swinging) , well there were great spinners who end up reducing the runs as they will be ineffective on those pitches.
Its like u expect Steyn and Andersen to have same bowling averages in India as in SA/ENG
