Internet connection at first floor

My router (iBall 300M) is on the ground floor but for my study purposes I use first floor room. The problem is that the laptop doesn't connect to wifi or if connects to the wifi sometimes the wifi range is very bad (50-60% signal strength) and I get below 1 mbps speed.

How can I use internet at first floor? Is using repeater a good option (the ones available on Amazon)?

Which ethernet cable to use if I want to connect via LAN cable ? The shortest distance between router and laptop will be 25-30 metres but it will involve extending cable via window and the wire will hang outside. Will there be any issues with speed due to external factors or wear & tear due to sunlight, rain etc?

Try if there is a way to get a Ethernet cable through inside of your house. Probably Ethernet cable to the first floor is the best method interms of performance
Maybe you can use a cheap shielding thing you get ...Bare wire can survive but not recommended
This is used in cctv shielding which you might have seen on ceilings

@shashankb thanks for the suggestion. Yes I can take ethernet cable via the staircase but it will involve a longer distance and I guess cable will be costly also.

Will a wifi range extender do the job? Like this one, I do get 1-2 bars on the first floor but not the speed which is the main issue.

TP-Link TL-WA850RE N300 Wireless Range Extender.

As I saw the Extender you are about to purchase is 1300 on Amazon , in that much price you will get a Ethernet cable itself . Just a suggestion . Can you specify the exact length measured by you if u need to wire it ?
You can get upto 40 Metres under 800 bucks

I am just with the feeling that extenders are not that relaible in all ...if you are spending 1300 bucks . Go for a TP-Link router
