Internet options in Perungudi, OMR, Chennai?

I stay in Perungudi, OMR, Chennai and only fast service network available in my area is Tikona (currently a BSNL user). Few of my friends say, if i take this connection i may face small problems but the speed will be good. But i am very confused whether to take it or not.

Currently using 512kbps plan and i am little bored with the speed.

Tikona get two kinds of responses on the forum. Positive ones are usually fake. Negative ones are very pissed off.
I am not sure how many Tikona users active on the forum though

sad to hear it, all my hopes are gone. I tried for a new service which failed miserably in my area. A tikona guy called me and said for two days we are offering free installation and if you want you can make use of it. But i don't know what to do..BSNL is the only resource i can cling to as of now i think

i am sure there are enough tikona users who are also happy with their connection. so it might be worth a try to get tikona but do not pay in advance for a longer period of time.

i risked similarly and got myself a reliance connection last year. i keep an airtel connection for backup. but reliance provides me something that airtel doesn't and overall it works well for me. despite the issues.

I thought of taking the least package, 500 for installation, 1800 for subscription and the plan amount. Totaling around 2.5k i don't know whether it is worth a shot.. Anyway i will check out their demo on Monday and decide.

ask the tikona guy to get you list of customers in your area. visit them and get first hand feedback.

Tikona connection is very irregular and they do not remove their connection once given. I had applied for tikona disconnection two months back. I was told that it will be kept in safe custody for two months. I had sent several mails asking it to be disconnected and I was told on phone that backend team will call me and it will be disconnected. Now I am getting a mail - "Your two months safe custody is over and your connection has been resumed - Happy surfing." Do not take tikona.

tikona is like chinese item , if it works it works sufficient , if it doesn't then it will be regretful for you you must be lucky to get tikona working for you. bsnl evdo would be a better option if you are into downloading.
