HelloRecently I am facing this problem. I have been able to connect using the same PC till first week of November w/o any problems. I think there was some software upgrade done during the first week of Nov which could have triggered this problem.When I connect to the CPE through my PC ethernet card, I dont seem to get an IP address at all. But if I connect through my laptop, I seem to get most of the times.My PC configWindow XP HomeRealtek RTL 8139 Fast Ethernet NICAny pointers from the experts here?CheersVenkatAdditional pointers:When I have ethereal or wireshark software running on my PC, it does not detect any packets on network except those originated from the PC.On the contrary, on my laptop, I can see a whole stream of packets on the network.Even a ping of 192.168.1.1 (the CPE device) does not work on my PC when it is configured with a static address in the 192.168 range, but the same works w/o any problem in the laptopAny help deeply appreciated

I think I found out what the problem is. It is because of ethernet auto negotiation. The CPE device misbehaves if from the PC side you set an autoneg to anything other than auto. To get it out of the misbehaving scenario, you need to set it to 10 M full duplex connect back and then turn it onto Auto.Finally my wimax practical expertise bailed me out!!!!

how to set it to 10 M full duplex connect back and then turn it onto Auto ??

Start->Settings->Network Connections->[Your Connection]->Properties[Right Click]->Configure->Advanced[Tab]->Connection Type-> Auto Negotiation[Drop Down]
