IRCTC News & Updates

I always prefer e-ticket where my reservation charges are less compare to the i-ticket

..and we can take as many printouts as we want.

Since there were around 50 seats were available for that particular train i opted the option of book only with lower birth.

50 is pretty less availability when you are trying for Lower.

One good thing about IRCTC is that I have never faced refund problems.

i've a doubt regarding the E-ticket booking. say if the normal ticket fare is rs 200 (EXCLUDING the reservation charge) , how much amount should i pay in addition 2 this?? i use my SBI account to pay the amount online. i

i think its 40Rs extra per ticket (6 persons max per ticket)

Its 10 bucks for a single person with Rs 5 per additional person in the same ticket.Though if you book 6 people in a single ticket, it charges you Rs 25 instead of 35.Plus if you use ICICI credit cards, another 1.8% is charged.:madness:

IRCTC is really cheating with the customers and looting us ... It is fact that it will not cost them even a single ruppee if we are printing out an e-ticket and also it saves there lots of man power etc... In my opinion, irctc must stop service charges taken on e-ticket with immediate effect.

I have never seen W/L in any train going more than 1000 ever in my life.

It's because of the Ganesh Chaturthi falling on 11th Sep.

the charges for all banks is at below link

https://www.irctc.co.in/payment.html

if you are paying by credit card, use Axis Bank Payment Gateway, its charges are 1.65%, where as all other charge 1.8%. and note that if you have Citibank Credit card, you are not required to choose Citibank Payment Gateway (CITI PG) only, you can choose between any of the 5 Payment Gateways ( ICICI, CITI, HDFC , Axis n American Express ) . so choose the cheapest one which is Axis Bank PG

Also note that payment through netbanking of most banks is Rs. 10, but it makes sense to use it only when total ticket cost is greater than Rs. 606. as cost of Credit Card charge is Rs 10 for Rs 606 (1.65%) with Axis bank Gateway. so for tickets costing more than 606 Rs, using netbanking will be cheaper than Credit card

hope this helps some people !
