U shud be knowing this, but let me just post it - Libre Office is based on the Open Office's source code, or something like that.So, function wise, both shud be more or less same. Just that i had used Open office at some Client places, and wanted to try something different. So i opted for Libre Office.Otherwise, i havent checked out for the comparison of the 2.....

out of the two libreoffice is of course more sensible. oracle has pretty much discarded openoffice as almost all the major developers have now moved on to working on libreoffice.

hehe. well. if you do not need complicated features, you can probably just do fine with google docs or even microsoft web apps.

Feels sick that I need to spend 4K just to use PowerPoint.I have OpenOffice somewhere on my hard disk, hope it can handle PPT without issues.

have you even tried the web based version of powerpoint? google presentation is worth a try. then there is zoho which i believe also has a presentation suite. there are plenty of web based offerings available.
