the damage is already done. Ive seen serpentine lines by people holding adhaar xerox in hand to submit to bank people. fucked up. most of them were retired people who dont mess around pension stuff and theyve been apparently told by bank people that their pension will be blocked unless they provide adhaar number

yup. my dad applied for aadhaar because of the pension issue. he relies on it and any delay would have caused a lot of issues. he did complain to sbi chairman email id and got a positive response after a few days. by that time he had already applied for aadhaar card so there's that.
