Thats because he is from software engineer background.
.
Is he ?

wikipedia says he is a harvard dropout , who did his BA from Rollins College , Florida

also

Gandhi claimed that he had received an MPhil in Development Economics after attending Trinity College, Cambridge. Media enquiries report that he attended under the alias "Raul Vinci".

this is interesting :
Rahul Gandhi's legal affairs team has taken a number of heavy-handed measures to prevent damage to his image. For example, when Newsweek alleged in late 2006 that he had not completed his degrees at Harvard and Cambridge or kept his job at the Monitor Group, they were slapped with a legal notice, following which they hastily retracted or qualified their earlier statements..
Far more serious allegations of rape, apparently originating from the web forums of Hindu revolutionary group Hindu Unity and spreading through sympathetic vectors in the blogosphere and other web discussion communities, surfaced in early 2007. The host of the web board, ezboard, was served a legal notice as well, and immediately shut down Hindu Unity's web board, for what it deemed as "Terms of Use" violations.
He was reportedly detained by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents at Boston airport in September 2001.
There was also a charge of Possession of Drugs in Columbia, which was quite famous for its drugs dealing.

i feel he joined politics coz he didnt have anything else to do

Would you say the country is better off today than it was 5 yrs ago ?

What about 5 yrs from now when compared with today ?

Sure, you don't have a crystal ball so pretend!

Cos if your answer is affirmative to the above two questions, i wonder if it really makes much difference who is in power :D

Who wants to rock the boat then eh ?
I agree, but the fact is that unless its a single party rule, whether its Congress, BJP or those extras, you cant expect any vision or action from the government.
Remember those major decisions, like introduction of five year plans, project budha smiling, green revolution etc occurred only when there was a single party rule. A single party means, atleast half of the allotted fund will flow to the project. Coalition government is nothing more than giving the ruling as well the opposing party equal opportunity to steal.

A single party rule will open the doors to hell. Five year plans were imported from the Soviet Union and we all know what happened to that country. Even if parties are corrupt, more than one choice means at least something will get done. The age of benevolent dictators (a contradiction, that) is long gone, and so is Nehruvian aura. After what Indira Gandhi did, and after what the jokers that followed her did, there is no way Indians are going to give any one single party the power to lord over them.

Pray for another hung assembly, and therefore another coalition. The more they fight with each other, the less chance they will have to fight with us. Or better still, form and vote for CaPI (the Capitalist Party of India).

just allow negative voting. if a candidate gets votes in negative ban him for life.

@sushubh, Negative voting??? they will never dig their graves
Is there any option to privatize the governance?

@gregory, what I meant was that, atleast something happened in India when there was a single party rule. Coalition as what is happening now, means a big zero for next 5 years, though they may steal less. But what will India benefit if we have a government who dont steal and does nothing ? Im not expecting any big visionaries in the governance side, but atleast someone who understands what India lacks and what she needs. I dont care whether they steal or not, as a non-corrupt government is simply utopian.

I understood what you were referring to - the primeministerships of Nehru and Indira. But those days were different. Nehru really thought that he was doing something good while doing entirely the opposite. And Indira Gandhi, continued in his footsteps. The only good thing she did was concentrate more on the defense side. But together, they killed the concept of freedom.Forget that. The thing is, today, if we get a pure BJP government, then god save India (although I have always said BJP in the centre is fine) because that means Modi is PM. There is no way Advani or any other BJP leader can even imagine 270+ seats in Lok Sabha. And there is no way Congress is EVER going to form a government in the centre on its own. That leaves the crooks who call themselves the third front. Don't even want to think about them. So, the best option is BJP + allies or Congress + allies. No single party rule.

The third front will be even more worse than BJP. We have already suffered once.

If he dyes his hair black, he can win. Looks like a foreigner when he stands with fellow Indians

^^ with CPI-M , CPI , SP and TDP ? , they are far worse off than both BJP and Congress
