Micromax A116 Canvas HD vs. Samsung Galaxy Grand

Micromax's IPS screen resolution alone would tip the scales in its favor. And surprisingly micromaxs' build quality is good too in recent phones. Absolutely hate the plasticky feel of Samsung's phones ..high end models included.

lol...tht post had 2 parts. the 1st one was about samsung in general. they don't push updates beyond a specific version for mid end devices once a new version of android comes out. i knw the nexus is by LG. wat i wanted to convey was even the nexus is outdated now considering limepie with motorola X is coming. however it is bound to receive tht update thanks to being a flagship. the mid segment devices won't have that luxury unfortunately. samsung will disown the Galaxy grand once lime pie is out !!
so better to stick with the micromax canvas. IPS with gr8 resolution plus no major UI garbage slapped on top by micromax. its as clean as it gets. dump tht phone in a years time for 7-8k and get a new 1 !!!

Yeah. If you plan to use it for a year then you should go for one that best fits your budget. I can't speak for an average Joe but if I were to buy a phone for 2 years or more, I would go for one that has good developer support or a nexus device. You are assured of updates in both the cases.

Seems the phone is delayed by a week. A couple of known folks went to inquire about buying this at a brick/mortar store (Poorvika). The guy informed of the delay and took their numbers, promising to call once available. While casually talking he showed a list where they were No.32 & No.33 asking for this very model and had agreed to give their numbers for a callback in the past week, and he was saying there were an almost equal number who chose not to give their number. Basically 50+ people inquiring for a model at a single store I should have posted in exclusive Canvas HD thread. @admin - can you move if possible.
