yep be patient. wait till 15th july. G might get a drop. expect many offers if FK gets exclusive deal on mi3.

Funny! I just checked the delivery options for Moto G for Meerut and it returned this:

This item cannot be delivered to your pincode as it exceeds our courier partner's shipment handling limit of INR 5000.00.

Just a couple of weeks back they delivered a printer costing 7,000 Rs to the same pin code through Delhivery. I dunno what to make of this now. These guys can't ship a product costing more than 5,000 Rs 70 odd kms from Delhi to a tier-2 city?! And they want to become India's Amazon. FFS!

First thing. Check the seller on the printer. May not have been WS Retail.

Second thing. Flipkart has put a lot of restrictions on sending items to UP. Problem is not at Flipkart's end. Flipkart once had to limit COD deliveries. Then they had to put a limit on all type of deliveries for UP. This seems to be a new restriction. This happens when lot of people order stuff and cause issues. Other reason can be state taxes which cause lot of trouble to them to move shipments past borders. Could be any one of the reason.

It is WS Retail! I wouldn't be ranting here if the seller was a third party supplier.

They seemed to have put a restriction on sale of items costing more than 10,000 Rs to UP since last year. Now they seem to have segregated the cities further. So Meerut's upper limit is 5,000/- while for Noida it is 10,000/-

There is a medianama article about this which speculates this restriction on non-receipt of CODs and a stupid sales tax regime in UP. I am finding it difficult to buy both. If returned COD was the reason, FK could have simple stopped COD orders beyond a certain limit. Also if the tax regime was absurd, it would be absurd even for goods costing 5,000 or 10,000.

Moreover Snapdeal does not place any such restriction for my pin code.

I guess we should stop blaming the government just because it is the cool thing to do!

Do we know whether there is any merit to the sales tax argument being put across by a section of people? Because FK has only stated it is a step they had to take to check on returned COD orders and a few credit card frauds. The sales tax thing is only a speculation.

And even if we were to buy the tax argument, a smaller portal with multiple third party sellers like Snapdeal should in fact be hit to a greater extent by government procedural delays than a larger portal like FK where WS Retail is the unified largest seller. You do realize it is easier for larger shipping houses to manage these things? Further, how would you explain a limit of 10,000 to Noida and a limit of 5,000 for Meerut? Goods traveling to these places have to cross the same state border.

To me this simply appears to be a case of a portal unable to handle logistics and not sorting it out since the market is not large enough for premium products.
