MTNL Broadband: 2mbps for free on unlimited plans on sundays in April 2011

it will be shortly pronounced in news paper or other media as far as other schemes of telecom companies have been made.as i have seen the bill cap plan seen on above site a few days before it's launch. :wink:
but for Sundays in April
leasehelp: means they might be testing 2mbps load on their servers=>Resulting in making a speed change to unlimited plans. 
or testing for implementing for FUP calculations.
previous week speed fluctuation to 2mbps was due to this effect. :grin:

Today's News papers Gives MTNL is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary so another reason might be this.

MTNL introduced “MTNL FUNDAY” for its Triband, Broadband customers. All Customers having Triband Unlimited Plans will now enjoy download speed of 2 Mbps on every Sunday. This increased speed will be applicable on all unlimited plans. The Increased 2 Mbps download speed will provide better Internet experience to customers without paying any additional charges. Peeyush Agrawal while launching the schemes said, MTNL is No.1 Broadband service provider in Mumbai. Since commencement of this service we are providing high class Broadband service experience to our customers at affordable prices.In order to provide more customer friendly service to its broadband customers, MTNL is doubling the upload speed from 256 kbps to 512 kbps without any charges for a period of 3 months.Similar offer is already available for customer willing to join MTNL network from other service provider under MNP without number change.

they are sounding a lot like airtel who famously announced last year that speeds would be doubled for all unlimited customers.
the speeds were doubled indeed. but all new plans had FUP on them.

for the browser question... i access most 'interactive' sites in chrome. opera is my rss reader and browser of choice for non-interactive sites. i use opera with javascript disabled.
