Even my downstream data sync has changed to 2048 but getting the same old speed. Infact its horribly slow right now :(I agree with Socrates .... i wud be happy to get what i shud be getting in the 1st place !! lol

^ The same thing happened in Delhi last August.Even I am synced to 2048 (downstream). But the only difference is I enjoyed 2mbps for over a month (August-September 2010)

My uncle's house sync rate also gone to 2048 and 800+ up.. but speed is still limited to 320kbps.Looks like MTNL has started using PPP based speed control instead of DSL port based speed control.

So that MTNL can keep better control over plan change and speeds. Hope this is not done to implement FUP.

I think this is done for those "BILLCAP" based plans. Earlier, it wud require speed change on DSL port. But now, PPP based speed control (software based) will make it easy for them

no, what i mean is... this way they can easily manage people on BILLCAP plan, without manually changing the speed.

My connection is also now synced to 2048/1024... but speed still same 320kbps.Now I am facing disconnection problem because upload is too high for my line. If this continues, then will have to call them to sync upload back to 256
