User manual says admin/admin

Is it bridged by any chance?
It is not bridged. I'm pretty sure I've accessed the modem page before with the basic admin/admin login. I would remember if I changed it.

Anyway, none of the settings were changed. So how would the speed drop from 5-6MBPS to 1-2MBPS and suddenly 0.2MBPS today morning.

MTNL said they're sending someone to check a few days back. No one has so far.

Am I the only one facing problems with MTNL?

Dunno, speed can drop if the line is faulty. Reset the modem, and then log in?

even my speed gone down to 0.2 MBPS. After restart it comes back to normal momentarily, but within few minutes...down low.
Very few servers giving full speed of 10 MBPS consistently, like Adobe etc. So obviously it is not a line fault. As no connection dropping , only speed drop.
weird is on speedtest i am getting full 10 MBPS speed, this is again my age old problem. :(

On speedtest, are you getting 10 Mbps to various servers (across the world)?
No, on various servers i am getting 1.5 mbps to 3 mbps. But for all india servers, i am getting 9 to 9.5 MBPS. So my line is capable. this is definitely MTNL chalugiri

It was always MTNL. Just curious to know how different the speeds were. There should ideally be no need for them to come over to your place, so long as you are able to provide them your stats. But how else will they waste time?

they are obligated to provide us 10mbps till their servers so they don't really bother with anything beyond that. they just say its nto our fault coz u r getting 10 till mumbai!
its the same for me 1.5-1.8 for usa serves, 3-4 for europe, 6-8 for asian ones. but no matter what i download a single stream cannto do more than 1-2 mbits. if u use a download manager with 10-15 streams u can get 9-10 mbits ! clearly this is some kind of speed limiting per stream from their end. i had todl them about this many months back. they refuse to even entertain it saying u r getting 10 mbits.
