Positive Points:
1. Good speeds once service activated.
2. High uptimes.
3. Unlimited uploads on all plans - Very useful for seeding torrents
4. No specialised dialers required. Uses standard WLAN or LAN for connecting to the
router which is directly connected to telephone line.
5. Good service status from mtnl.net.in. Tells you current usage, balance MB, etc. Integrates well with DataFox Add-on for Firefox.
6. You do not need to call customer service unless there is a change in plan, address, etc. Normal service is uninterrupted.
Negative Points:
1. Getting a service activated is an infinitely long process. Will take about 3 months to get an MTNL connection, Plan changes take weeks to upgrade your speeds, etc.
2. Customer service is rude and unprofessional. Few in the call center have any technical knowledge and their "complaint registration" has little effect.
General View: Great service when you have a satisfactory connection working. The problem is getting there, or change plans. Would recommend this ISP over private services any day for reliability and security as it is government owned.
