MTNL Broadband Shifted from Dlink 502T to HG520

can u show screen shots of router... first load router default settings and then show us screen shots where ever u make changes

How do we take screen shots . . through camera or is there a facility in our computers?

@saurabh.mathur What I meant to say is that the tel wire coming to your house should come directly to your splitter via a wall jack

If you see the diag above (which I have )left to right its
phone socket modem socket & Line socket
If you find my explanation a bit cryptic then have a look at the blog for the connection http://socrates0.blogspot.com/2006/01/configuring-d-link-502t-router-for.html

Feel free to ask if my explanation above is inadequate. :)

@26thjune If you want to take a screen shot of whats on your screen then press the key (on your keyboard) 'Print Screen' & then paste in the s/w 'Paint' (if you are using XP) & save as jpg. Then upload to http://www.imageshack.us/ & then copy link which can be seen in the 'Thumbnail for forums' to this forum.

krish_88 & socrates , I also know how to type in red. If you understand english and maths then only you can understand what it means. Below link is a tutorial for you to learn before you type things in red.

Buddy, why didn't you put this up for the other member so it would be of help to him in the first place? You seem to be in a hurry to type & not give complete info with a result your posts are misleading. I think other members have hinted at this & instead of changing your ways you start shooting of intemperate posts. Please this is not a college campus forum but read by a wide audience. Look at the post you have written where you consider 46.5dB(Snr Margin) as low. :wall::hysterical: If that is not misleading then what is. Further for your info do you know how many imponderables exist which can change the snr margin on a sec to sec basis. For eg I stay close to the exchange but when there was a problem (even line problem) my snr would fluctuate on a sec to sec basis (this has been documented elsewhere in this forum). There are many ways this can be calculated but are at best only indicative & not something 'built in stone'.

Snr Margin of 46.5dB is extreme poor .A high SNR simply means how loud the signal is over background noise. The higher the SNR margin the more stable the connection. You have a strong signal and have plenty of head room to receive faster speeds. Generally you would have a high SNR if your on a restricted speed plan eg. 256/64, 512/128 or 1500/256. The faster your connection speed the lower your SNR will be. Generally on unrestricted speed plans like Adsl2+ up to 24mbit the isp will set the SNR margin at which your modem connects generally a range between 6dB to 14dB. This will give you the fastest speed while maintaining a relatively stable connection. iiNet currently allow Adsl2+ customers to choose their own profile which ranges from fastest possible speed (low SNR) to slower speeds (higher SNR). Attenuation on the other hand is a measurement of the resistance to the signal on the line and should never change regardless of speed. There are many factors which affect both SNR and attenuation. A few are line distance, gauge or thickness of line, quality or age of line, number of bridge taps on line etc. I hope you understand it rather than banging your head.

I don't think you have understood again what i am trying to say as usual quick to post a reply. Another copy paste job from the net why dont you just paste the url for us :isleep:
