MTNL DELHI NEW 4Mbps BROADBAND PLANS

That is not business but social justice. It is what they do with electricity tariffs to keep it cheaper for lower income groups and get the rich to pay for the poor.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, so that explains my Rs10-15k power bills for running nothing but a fridge, some lights, my fans and my laptop/external hard drives?

Oh that sounds like some great big king-sized fridge you are using. And hey! I can't imagine you can live in Bombay without airconditioning unless you are keeping that fridge door open :)

To clarify, I was saying that irus's suggestion would be unbusinesslike.

The only thing this upgrade is going to do is finish the data limit faster than before !

Couldn't agree with you more. That is precisely why I shy away from high speed plans with data limits.

TBH neither can I. To each his own poison I say.

actually its the reverse.. poor pay for the rich through multiple channels + rights violations + exploitation through ignorance + deception etc. but that's another topic.

In this case reverse rates make business sense too because it would make a lot of people sitting on 999 and 599 plans jump to 850 plan and their average bills would easily be Rs 1500 - Rs 2000 versus current range of 700-1200.

so instead of a win-win situation for customers and mtnl these plans are a lose-lose situation for both.

anyway i might use the 850 plan for a month to feel the speed IF 599 and 999 plans don't get double speeds. ;)

[offtopic]I've lived in other Asian countries as well as the south of France before - I'm used to 35-40 degree temperatures and varying humidities. I didn't run an A/C mostly because one was not installed by the landlord (as had been agreed) and I couldn't be bothered installing my own since I was only leasing that house for 11 months (never again... this time I'm buying... especially before the market increases too much more!)

And the fridge was just a normal, run of the mill Godrej thing (a piece of shit even when it was new) which only the fridge and a small icebox and no separate freezer. Lousy landlord took advantage big-time.[/offtopic]

^ continuing OT - so we can only conclude that you are paying for the landlord's consumption as well.@irus - if you are into downloading it is a kind of addiction. It grows on you. I would say don't touch that new plan. Stick to the unlimited. If you are not a downloader then by all means try it.

Landlord lives in Parel or something, and is an absolute ass - I was living in Shivaji Park at the time. I don't know if I'll live in that area again, simply because there is virtually no real-estate market in that area. People don't move in or out, especially comparing to somewhere like Bandra (not that I'd live in Bandra, either).

ya daddycool i remember getting ****ed with 749 night unlimited plan and gettin 15-20k bills! unlimited is the best :)
