anyways 100GB will not be made available to us for at least 2 years..but its possible that some plans which currently gives 1 GB data limit might be upgraded to 10 GB or more.

Every thing is gonna happen in 2 years!
are you psychic?? have a intuition? :p

@ABOVE

its not an intuition buddy, its something which is due to happen...keep ur brains and eyes open, u might see some revolutionary things which is Gonna happen in broadband industry, BSNL will start it and Mtnl will follow.

100 gb is too much revolutionary. i dont even expect 1gb to 10gb increment for free i.e. at same cost.

i hope someone from govt/mtnl reads our rants

They will read and move on to read something else...
Nothing but pressure from competetion will give a kick in Govt's Arse.:)

MTNL has got so agressive now after Airtel took away most of their customers from VIP areas.
Hopefully Govt would cut prices even more so as to counter back.:)

Its the new ADSL2+ technology which enables 24Mbit connections.
Most MTNL phone lines still crack. Once they can fix those then MTNL should be able to give 8Mbps as a starter pack. MTNL/BSNL wires are thicker and of better quality than used by other ISPs. I was reading another thread where people are reporting that getting IPTV has reduced there speeds to 256Kbps, which is a good indication that either the MTNL techs aren't competitive enough to handle 3 signals in one line or there line cracks are taking up too much of bandwidth out forcing them to give low speeds. What are your thoughts? PS: I disconnected MTNL phones lines 5 years back.:)

The bandwidth of the IPTV users being reduced to 256kbps is not due to any line fault. Its the jadoo that the babus in the server room do. As for line capability, telephone lines and internet work on different frequencies... which the copper wires handle pretty well. And as IPTV is supposed to be local bandwidth (I am not sure about this... cyberwiz says so...) and so even that should not be a problem.

I agree that sometimes MTNL is not able to serve the current demand for the bandwidth. And that is probably because far to many people are opting for MTNL Triband and it is much more than what MTNL might have estimated. But this is a short term problem and should be fixed soon.

I think 8 mbps should be a reality by the end of 2008. As for higher bandwidth like 24mbps... only God knows when will it happen!!!

If I'm right they will require ADSL2 for speeds like that .

u can switch to (force) ADSL2+ and it shud work too. though in mycase ADSL2+ causes frequent disconnection.
