When i say few, i also mean about 4-5 months atleast!!Whatever it may be, quite a few comparisons of technology to be looked out for & all, are being discussed here......i didnt knew there were 2 types of Touch screens!!
Apple started the trend of capacitive touchscreen, Nokia fanboys were like, capacitive screen will break if the phone falls off your hand Nokia's won't, as Nokia was boasting about the 5800 XM
Capacitive screens are fragile, this is the reason you will find people handling their phones with extra care. Resistive screens are tougher compared to capacitive, but their touch response is not that great as capacitive.
Thanks for this piece of info!!As it is, since v have opted to buy costlier phones, we take that extra care. May be we need to go a step ahead from right now.....double extra care in case of Capacitive Touch screens. My current phone too has hardly fallen twice in these 2.25 years. And fallen in the sense that once it was on charge & by mistake it slipped off.....main force was absorbed by the cord & the phone just touched the floor. After seeing my friends' Androids, seeing the discussions here & seeing the specifications on various links provided, i JUST CANT WAIT TO GET MY FIRST ANDROID NOW!!
Few years back my 3230 had fallen heads on......its display was off instantly. I got it repaired, spent a few thousands......but eventually it died in around 8-10 months.

Except Motorola Defy maybe? Plus most high end phones these days seem to come with Gorilla Glass though not having used one i don't know whether its any good. My sister's HTC Inspire seems pretty fragile. One drop and it will be bye bye phone.
