My weird experiences with BSNL

i got the bill of Rs.44000 for the period 27th dec 2007-29feb 2008 for the same reason of my plan information sent to bangalore as home 250 while my plan was home 500.however unlike RVK2488 i have to use much more resources & time to get my bill corrected.i guess that's why UP is at the bottom of development list.govt offices here are among the worst in entire country in terms of work efficiency & solving problems.

I will post the scanned images...but let me see if I have those yet because I think I had to submit them to get them correct the bills...so if I have the photocopies with me...I will surely post the images...
The first bill of Rs. 1,05,000 was the real ground-breaking one...my parents almost fainted..(I am a student aged 20 and got the connection on promise to my parents that it will never cross 500+60 tax any month)
my parents were going to kill the broadband but after my long & hard convincing they continued with it....

to my luck, the officer in charge of broadband at my exchange is a very good person...its all because of her..I just submitted her the copies of the bills with a written application and she did all the rest.
I even did'nt paid the bills until I got the corrected bills a week ago. (So, practically I did'nt pay a bill since my Dec 07 bill until a few days ago when I paid all the bills from Jan 08 to Apr 08)

One query I wanted to ask you...
I am planning to change my plan from H500 to H500C...
Right now I have the one india plan (Rs. 180 / month) + Rs.99 per month for that 'yakeen nahi hota' offer where we get BSNL to BSNL local calls free.
So now when I change from H500 to H500C, can I pay Rs. 99 extra to avail the same YNH offer?...please clear my doubt....

RKV2488,DE of my district is not such a customer friendly person.the only reason he corrected my bills was because my father is a senior govt official too & my mother is a govt official too.i also knew that since i applied for home 500 & i have the proof in the form of photocopy of my application taken from bsnl office where applications are submitted i could take the matter in court & won the case for sure.thanks to my parents positions thing didn't turned out that way & everything got corrected.i also learned a valuable lesson that at least in UP unless you have connections you are doomed in such cases.

i had similar weird experiences.

few days back i logged into the portal and tried to change the password. It showed username of some other account on the change password page.

i logged in again and was able to change dataone broadband and portal passwords for my account.

Since then, most of the times i get the "Invalid user name or password" error on portal login. It works randomly sometimes. :wall:

I am having H500 for past six or so months. I got the portal-id few months ago. (YES, about 4 months after I got my connection) I kept both the the passwords ( broadband pass & portal-id pass ) as 'password', but changed them last week.

Since then, sometimes when I try to log-in using the new password, it gives error as "Invalid user name or password" even though I enter correct portal-id & password. Has anyone else here experienced such a problem?

Second, a funny thing happened yesterday, when I logged-in with my portal-id and the new password, the server displayed the page with details of some other gentleman's account - someone living in Karnataka !!! and when I logged-out and logged-in again, it again showed my own statistics ! (Thank god) Has anyone experienced THIS ?

Also, I got bills of Jan 08, Feb 08 and Mar 08 of 105000, 60000 and 40000 respectively which were modified and I got the corrected bills of around 1000 / month in this month i.e. May 08 (YES, even the Jan 08 bill)
This problem occured because they mistakenly fed the server with my plan as H250 instead of H500 and they counted my NU usage in day-time and as I downloaded so much in Jan/Feb/Mar, I got these huge bills....

So, in all I had had my share of BSNL's all-kinds-of-experiences....
still I am satisfied with the speed that i get and the amount of stuff that I can DL in each month....
but I hope these types of things don't happen to me in future........
