AFAIK , there are no 18" Full HD monitors , atleast among the ones easily available . 22" is the minimum size in which you get HD monitors .

yea as my friend karan explained quite clearly... i'll elaborate more... the older LCD panels use CCFL lighting to provide back panel lighting... the new TV's use LED's to provide back panel lighting what this means for you my friend is :
1. higher refresh rate
2. higher contrast ratio
3. lower energy consumption
4. deeper blacks and better colour reprodution

and if you want a 24" screen for a computer... drop the idea... its too big...

@anant.del..... the contrast ratio mentioned by the companies is not what it actually turns out... its much lower than that... sometimes..

@admin the future is IPS.... you can still have a IPS panel powered by a LED backlight... IPS panel's main advantage is now producers can break the LCD's 75hz refresh rate barrier and go upto 120Hz causing no-image tearing and more fluid video.

* or more than that in some cases

lol....when it has ever been told by co. fully that u will get xtly what they have written anyways all these 3 monitors have been tested that I have mentioned have and performed extremity well in various tests done by websites and close to their actual result.....

plus who told u IPS monitors can only get 60+......there are TN monitor doing it aswell......IPS might be better though but u need to have atleast 25k-30k to buy the cheapest IPL monitor.......

IPS panels have more lag compared with TN panels. Latter are recommended for gaming, former for image quality. If you can get a 22-24" then theres nothing like it. FullHD makes a difference when you are watching movies or sitcoms. 1920x1080 will soon become the de-facto standard for screen resolution and will remain for a couple of years.BenQ LG Viewsonic are decent. Samsung seems overpriced here. Ive had an excellent experience with Dell.Deltapage.comPrimeABGB.comSMCinternational.comMediahome.inTheitwares.comCall these places up if you want the exact prices as they fluctuate.
