How about the customs payment.. For AliExpress shipping @varkey @abbyck? Is it still luck or mostly we will be made to pay.. I do want to purchase a mi box s. Really confused if I should purchase from Amazon for 5.2k or 4k from aliexpress.

Small items usually come without any duty. Depends on your luck. I've rarely paid customs duty for packages coming over regular post.

I heard numerous comments on mi box s which maybe the same as your router. That people had to pay costoms of about 500 - 1.5k.
Even had one guy reporting from kochi, on thier comments.
Still depends on luck

Ended up ordering it @abbyck Was planning to replace my aged (6 year old) Western Digital N750 router and this seemed like a good option.
Ordered from this link US $37.39 21% OFF|Xiaomi MI WiFi Wireless Router 3G / 4 867Mbps WiFi Repeater 4 1167Mbps 2.4G/5GHz Dual 128MB Band Flash ROM APP Control-in Wireless Routers from Computer & Office on AliExpress and had an 8 $ off on 50 $ coupon so ended up getting it for 2.9k or so.

The less number of physical ports is an issue, but 3 should be enough for me (2 for WAN primary & backup and one for LAN)
