but anyways. IMO there is not much incentive to go for airtel black plans if you want something like bb+ dth. If they had waived off installation charges for dth and xstream box then that would have made it really good. But right now, you will pay these installation charges and will only save like 100 rs max if you go bb + dth separate vs in black combo.
What does the 350 rs worth of tv channels imply exactly? Is that figure including NCF or what? Can we choose, say 17 individual channels each costing 20 rupees?
I recently shifted to Airtel Black plan 699. It seems to be value for money plan.
Also I got a call to upgrade my HD STB with Xstream box. The executive told that it will be an exchange offer for INR 1500. However when Installer came, he told me that the cost is INR 750, offer upgraded on the same day. The cost will be adjusted in the next bill. The experience is very good. Xstream box has converted my decade old LED TV into a smart TV (Although I was wise enough to bought full HD LED at that time, when full HD LED options were limited and costly). The decision of buying Full HD TV is really paying off now.
Xstream box interface is very good. Technician synchronised the Box remote with TV remote, which eliminates the need of TV remote for switch on/off and volume up down.
Yea, the XStream box is fine for a simple user that does not expect much but it gradually starts to hang a lot. There have been some instances of software bugs on the device too, though thankfully one can remove the airtel Xstream completely and use it as an android TV device.
