its working if i insert both the rams its showing 6gb ?

yup done now many times, removed the battery also but same problem. with both sticks in it runs fine showing 6GB.But if i remove the 2GB one (the old memory). I get a blue screen with that error above.

Did you try putting it in the alternate slot?
 
yup! Still the same problem.i can see the 4gb memory fine in bios but win7 just wont start with just this 4gb stick and keeps giving that blue screen error.Have even disabled hibernate option.

Can you post screenshots of BIOS data of the two scenarios?
 
maybe its some weird problem with lenovo laptops and their bios.

good thing i only bought one stick.

I closed up my laptop I guess it doesn't really matter that much. Thanks all again :)

Only get bios error when this new ram of 4GB is inserted without the other 2GB one.

" The bios on this system is not fully ACPI compliment. Contact vendor.
